As the crypto-fuelled Web3 mania ended, the real builders got to work.
Blacksun, founded by Mahdi Yahya and Jaafar Yahya, is building Web3 infrastructure for the next generation of developers, making app development on blockchains superfast, seamless and cost-effective. The name "Blacksun" is a homage to Science Fiction writer Neal Stephenson's landmark speculative fiction work "Snowcrash" where he first coined the term "Metaverse". In the book, "Blacksun" is an exclusive night club where citizens mingle as Avatars.
Blacksun approached Opposite with the challenge of defining a visual identity for a brand that needed to be adopted by enterprises and CTOs, but loved by developers.
In crafting the brand system, Opposite took cues from the origin of the name "Blacksun". This resulted in a rich visual language with typography, graphics, colors and illustrations, all working together to create an immersive brand universe.
The Blacksun logo is a sturdy typemark with a custom 'B' that references the name subtly and performs well as a shorthand for the brand. The rest of the visual system offers increasing degrees of expressiveness to communicate effectively with enterprises and the developer community.
