Simba is one of the first, homegrown, family-run craft beer brand from India. We started working with the founder when Simba was just an idea. Over the months, we became a part of the Simba family, and Simba became a part of ours.
After creating the brand strategy and the visual identity, we extended it to the packaging for Simba Beers. For a beer brand, the packaging in many ways, is the identity – that is the part of the brand customers will see the most often and develop affection towards.
With the packaging design, our goal was to bring out the authentic and crafted character of the brand, while making it instantly recognisable in a line-up of craft beers, both Indian and International. We achieved this through some unconventional choices in layout, typography and the use of the Simba character.
Since then, we’ve worked with Simba on applying the brand look to a whole range of things – from the 4-pack and 6-pack holders to playing cards, matchboxes and even brownies!
